Simply Hired Empowers Employees and Decreases Downtime with RingCentral
Simply Hired is an online job search engine that collects job listings from across the web including: company career pages, job boards and niche job websites. The website caters to those who are looking for jobs as well as people who are looking to fill jobs by providing position posting options in addition to customized searches.
Simply Hired operates in 24 countries in 12 different languages and has over 30 million visitors per month. The company was founded in 2005. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Simply Hired now has 150 employees.
Prior to using RingCentral, Simply Hired used a Digim PBX PRI system. This hardware system lacked crucial features, was outdated and required external technicians to make even simple changes. Servicing would take up to two days and the system as a whole could not be trusted. It was finally decided that a new phone system was needed when Digim failed to notify the company about changes to its phone numbers, bringing the entire office down for three days.
Martin Scott, Information Technology Specialist, says, “We wanted a cloud based system because hardware eventually fails at some point. RingCentral provided our office with a reliable and flexible phone system and gave me peace of mind.”
Since switching to RingCentral, Scott has experienced significant time savings. Since all changes to the phone system no longer require external assistance, Scott has saved 10% of his time annually. Last year Scott had to come into the office on the weekends on five occasions because all updates and changes to the phone system required downtime.
He would also stay at the office late at night to make these system changes and updates. Scott says, “With RingCentral, I can make administrative changes and system updates remotely with zero downtime, and we’re saving $10,000 annually.”
Simply Hired’s previous phone system was not user-friendly. Scott and his team had to call Digim in order to make changes on anything in the phone system. Whether it was provisioning a phone for a new employee or changing a voice mail recording, requests would take a few days. The slow process of making changes was particularly troublesome when new automated answering messages needed for holiday office closures were not implemented in a timely manner.
The previous system only supported one type of phone, which was very old and didn’t sustain any practical features. Scott is thrilled that the employees at Simply Hired now have a more efficient and practical phone system. “RingCentral gives Simply Hired employees the freedom to change their own settings, forward calls, change their voice mail if they’re going to be out of the office,” Scott says. “We always look forward to the next update because there is always something new and exciting. The features make my life easier.”
