A very good post - There does seem to be a cultural resistance to telecommuting. I also hate the micromanagers who assume laziness - after a while, if an employee is not producing enough work, it becomes pretty obvious that they are not putting in a full day's work. In my experience, that is rare, and people work harder in a familiar environment, especially the ones who are not as socially inclined. It will happen - the technology is there.

Best wishes - thanks for the interesting read :)

Ring Central is not as self-serving as most companies and they really care about promoting your business through various venues, as the above article demonstrates. Although I knew about Twitter (Facebook, LinkedIn, Plaxo) for business social networking and Google Local Business (which is a great feature), I didn't know about the other resources featured. However, as long as I have a business, I will use Ring Central for my telecommunication needs.

Another good resource is www.TradePublications.com which offer free email/print magazines for just about every industry there is. They also offer quite a few white papers on the latest industry trends.

Small business
4) Small Business owners are largely forgotten. Thats why I only focus on them. I have experience several members of my family file bankruptcy due to small business failures. I also I suffered through 2 destroyed businesses due to failure however, in my failings I have learned some of the secrets to success. (Who can say they know it all?)
What I like about small business owners is that they are not afraid to take huge risks and lay it all on the line. But, I agree they do need a lot of help with their marketing. I think having them go the social media and email route is not only the least expensive but its also the most effective. Thanks for the stats!

Small business

The Center for Media Research has released a study by Vertical Response that shows just where many of these ‘Main Street’ players are going with their online dollars. The big winners: e-mail and social media. With only 3.8% of small business folks NOT planning on using e-mail marketing and with social media carrying the perception of being free (which they so rudely discover it is far from free) this should make some in the banner and search crowd a little wary……….
