Do more than send a plain old text – fax documents in style. Spice up your faxes by creating custom cover pages for memos, urgent documents and even birthday announcements. First, make sure you’ve downloaded and installed the RingCentral Call Controller™ for PCs.
(Note: Call Controller™ for Mac doesn’t support creating custom cover pages yet.)
Here’s how to create a custom fax cover page:
- Open the RingCentral Call Controller and click the fax icon.
- Select Options > Cover Page.
- Choose a cover page from the selections on the left, then click Add.
- Give your cover page a name, then click Ok.
- Select the cover page you’ve just created, then click Edit. This opens the RingCentral FaxEditor software.
- Use the FaxEditor to customize your cover page. Select Insert > Insert Object to insert your company logo or letterhead if you have it saved as an image file on your PC.
7. Once you’re finished, go to File > Save and Close.
8. Select the cover page you’ve just edited, then click Select.
And that’s it! Your new cover page is ready for delivery. Explore your creative side and design as many fax pages as you like. Click here to learn more about creating custom cover pages.

But how can I use a custom fax page when email faxing. Do you have to use the call controller? It would be great to save the custom page and use it either way when email faxing or faxing from the call controller. We need some flexibility for our cover pages!
For now, use the Call Controller to customize your fax cover pages. You can also use the cover sheet templates to send faxes using FaxOut. Look in’styles’ on the left hand side of the “Select Cover Page” screen to see a selection of fax cover pages.
You can also add text to the coversheet by typing it into the subject line when faxing by email. This is the easiest way to send faxes on the go (most people don’t have the time to design a cover page on a train or in a cab). Simply enter the 10-digit fax number you’d like to send the fax to, attach the document you’d like to fax, and send.
Question:
When is the customized faxed page cover going to be available to Mac users? This is an attribute that other online companies are offering and I may switch so my transmissions look more professional.
Custom FAX covers are easy to create. I like the versatility of options.
All of this sounds good UNTIL you realize that NONE of it applies to MAC =:-(
How about being able to use the custom Fax Cover we create in Call Controller in either the iPhone or the website. Sometimes it takes me longer to send a fax using the Call Controller than it does using the website.
When will you finally allow customizing faxes for Macintosh computers? I use RingCentral because it is generally better in a lot of ways for a small business user like me, but your inability to fully support Mac users with the same kinds of customization that you provide to PC users is getting frustrating. At least publicly announce when customization can be expected, instead of just saying this isn’t available yet.
I really wish I could customize the web cover sheet. I want to send a cover sheet with my faxes but I do not want my address and other personal info on it. I will still try the service and hope this feature is added. I just want to be able to deselect some of the fields and do not want to install software as I wish to use the service from different locations and the web interface is ideal. I don’t think I will continue with the service if I cannot customize it in this way.
Can we customize the cover page for different users sending faxes via email? We have more than one person that needs to send faxes and their personal information should be on the fax cover page. Right now, only the ‘personal information’ settings are on the cover page for anyone that sends a fax.
When I click on cover page in Ring Central call controller, nothing happens. It will not even let me see the list of cover pages to use. I click on options, then on cover page, and nothing. I dont know what to do. Also, downloading call controller took a long time.
When is the customized faxed page cover going to be available to Mac users? You offer such great services BUT ONLY to Window users???!!!
For all you Mac users out there: When purchasing a Mac, I was quite well aware of incompatibility problems due to the proprietary nature of the Macintosh platform. It is no secret Macs have compatibility problems with a large array of hardware, software, and web applications. That’s why I also own a Windows based computer. If an incompatible application is critical to your business, then my suggestion is to purchase a Windows based PC. You can pick them up for less than $200 these days. With both platforms, you’ll easily be able to achieve any and all tasks a computer is capable of delivering.
Todd – What an arrogant and ignorant statement. Mac machines are pretty mainstream now and the onus is on companies to support a platform as mainstream as the Mac.
The silly statement by folks like is, well silly. There are so many alternatives that there really isn’t anything out there that you can’t do on the Mac when it comes to the basics (Heck even Autodesk is now releasing AutoCAD and their products on the Mac!).
So – since there are always alternatives now days (problem of proprietary…hahaha) someone can always use capitalism to their favor – talk with their feet. Walk their wallet to another alternative. Therefore, companies should listen to the consumers that buy their products.
Macs are popular small business machines.
Everyone else (Mac users)-
I would suggest not using the cover page editor anyway. Even on my Windows laptop I don’t use it. uncheck cover page and include your own. I have a template cover page which ties in with my overall branding and provides a consistent feel. i just open that and edit it. Just make that the first page out of your attachments
I have followed these instructions in an attempt to customize a cover page with our business logo. We have our logo in various image files: GIF, JPEG, and PNG. Regardless of which image file I use, an icon is uploaded instead of the actual image (and no, I have not selected the “Display As Icon” checkbox). Why won’t this upload my logo, as these instructions indicate it should?
Is it possible to get a picture of the first page on the fax confirmation? I need a little more detail if possible.
Thanks!
Thanks for your suggestion Paul! I also had a hard time uploading our logo and customizing our cover sheet. I don’t have time to play around with it so I’ll just use our current template as the first attachment. GREAT suggestion!
This function does not work properly. I have numerous J-PEGS and other files with my logo and business cards saved. When you apply your logo it appears in the size of a tiny little box that you cannot see. There appears to be no way to increase the size so that it is actually viewable on the fax cover sheet.
